The Mabel dress is one of the most stunning 1940s dresses we have ever re-created and it's now available with 3/4 length sleeves. We painstakingly copied the original sample in our archive and the result is simply fabulous.

This style is so flattering, it drapes and ties to the front left side, a detail so popular with many of the original 1940s designers. It has beautiful top shoulder smock stitching detail and tiny little covered buttons at the centre front of the bodice.

Our collection is inspired by the work of our dear friend and original 'Seamstress of Bloomsbury', Lilian Wells, who made the most exquisite garments for aristocrats and royalty from around the world in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. Most of our designs are named after the lovely ladies who Lilian made the garments for, so you'll have a small part of history in each of our garments!
