Dresses like this do not come along often and we must admit we all gasped when we unearthed this one.
Ossie Clark 1970s does 30s evening gown.
Sparkly satin crepe back (the crepe is on the outside) so the inside feels good against your skin.
Incredible pleats at the back to enhance your derrière. Low back with a fabric covered button and a little hook and eye for closure. Zip to lower back for ease of entry.
Long sleeves.
Sparkly decorative button to the front. Bust pleats, shoulder yokes which end in a point at the top of the gathered sleeves.
The dress will skim your hips due to the clever construction.
Measurements:
Overall length: 48” approx
Sleeve length: 25.5” from edge of shoulder
Bust 34-42” depending on desired fit. (Our mannequin is a size UK8-10)
Waist 27-29.5” depending on desired fit. (Mannequins measures 27”)
Hips up to 41” (would possibly fit a little larger).
Our model Lisa is a UK12, the mannequin UK8-10.
Raymond "Ossie" Clark (9 June 1942 – 6 August 1996) was a British fashion designer who was a major figure in the Swinging Sixties scene in London and the fashion industry in that era. Clark is now renowned for his vintage designs by present-day designers. Clark is compared to the 1960s fashion great Biba and influenced many other designers, including Yves Saint Laurent, Anna Sui and Tom Ford. Manolo Blahnik has said of Ossie Clark's work: "He created an incredible magic with the body and achieved what fashion should do—produce desire." Ossie Clark and Ossie Clark for Radley clothes are highly sought after, and are worn by well known models such as Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
